I have always been interested in urology because of the wide variety and depth the specialty offers. I find it incredibly satisfying and truly rewarding to be able to make a difference in the lives of my patients. I was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, but, my father was a career officer in the U.S. Army and, shortly after I was born, his career took my family to Ft. Sill, Iowa, and then to Hutchinson, Kansas, the two places I grew up. After completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas, I moved to Boston to attend Harvard Medical School. After medical school, I moved to Dallas to complete my internship and my residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Upon completing medical training, I went into private practice, which is where I spent a majority of my career. I have more than 35 years of experience working in adult and pediatric urology. My wife, Renee, and I live in Fort Worth. Between the two of us, we have four grown children—three sons living in the DFW area and a daughter who lives in New Orleans. In my free time I enjoy working on electric trains and running.
