A.E. (Ace) Thurman, M.D. was born in Pawnee, OK and attended undergraduate school at Southwestern State College, Weatherford, OK, before attending Tulane University, New Orleans, LA where he attained his Master of Science in physiology.
Dr. Thurman received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Okla. City, OK before serving his internship at Bexar County Hospital District, San Antonio, TX.
His residency in urology was also served at Bexar County Hospital District before spending two years in military service in the U.S. Air Force at Carswell Air Force Base.
Dr. Thurman then started his private practice career in Fort Worth, TX in 1979, where he has continued to see patients through his association with Urology Associates of North Texas in 2005.
Dr. Thurman is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, American College of Surgeons, American Urological Association, South Central Section of the AUA, Texas Urological Society and the American Association of Clinical Urologists. He has also served as a principal and sub-investigator for urinary incontinence research trials.
Dr. Thurman and his wife, Eileen, have two children, Scott and Sally.
