About Me
My father was a physician, so as I was exposed to medicine at a young age and always had an interest in the field. I love science. I love solving problems with my mind and hands - and I love working with people. Looking back, I don't think I would be happy doing anything else. As a physician, I specialize in general urology, but I have a particular interest in prostate, kidney and bladder cancers, BPH, kidney stones, and elevated PSA.
I studied neuroscience and behavioral biology at Emory University then went on to earn my medical degree at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I knew I wanted to focus on urology, and completed both my internship in general surgery and residency in urology at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. A fellowship in advanced robotics and laparoscopy at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine prepared me to care for individuals experiencing a broad range of urological issues.
Often my patients have sensitive and highly bothersome problems that they're embarrassed to openly talk about with anyone else. I want them to see me as accepting and non-judgmental. I'm here to educate and advise, not simply dole out what I think is best. Informing and empowering patients is paramount for good patient care and creating a strong doctor-patient relationship.
Typically, my discussions with patients revolve around education about their disease. I counsel them on all available treatment options in an unbiased manner. Together, we create a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their individual condition and needs. I feel good when a patient leaves my office feeling they are empowered with the knowledge and understanding they need to face their disease head on.
I currently live in Dallas, and when I'm not caring for patients my wife and I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family. I look forward to caring for members of the North Texas community.
