Dr. Gruber is a native Dallasite having attended Hillcrest High School. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he was selected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Both medical school and his urology residency were done at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. In between the two his surgical internship was completed at the University of California in San Diego. He is Board Certifited and has been in practice in Dallas for 25 years.
Dr. Gruber is a member of the American Urology Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society. He served as chief of the Department of Surgery at Medical City Hospital Dallas 2004 and 2005. He has been chosen for the "D" magazine list of Best Doctors each year from 2001 to 2008. Additionally he has been chosen for Texas Monthly's list of "Super Docs" in 2004 through 2008.
Dr. Gruber is married and has three daughters.
