Geoffrey Nuss, M.D.

Geoffrey Nuss is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Surgery.

About Dr. Nuss

Growing up in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Nuss knew he wanted to be a physician at a very young age. He thinks what originally attracted him to the field of medicine is still what fuels his love for it today - the opportunity to engage his emotional, physical and intellectual abilities to help others heal.

After completing medical school at Wake Forest University, Dr. Nuss came to Dallas to for his internship in surgery and his residency in urology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. When he knew he would specialize in treating conditions including reconstructive urology, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, urethral structure and urethroplasty, he completed his fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Although he loves performing surgery, his favorite part of being a urologist is connecting with his patients and caring for them. Communication is key to building that connection. In his mind, the doctor and patient are a team that work together toward an important and common goal - the patient's well-being. According to Dr. Nuss, both he and the patient play a key role in the healing process. That's why he strives to help his patients not only understand "how" their treatment works, but "why" it works. When Dr. Nuss and his patient are on the same page, that unity helps maximize healing and achieve the best possible results.

In his free time, Dr. Nuss enjoys cooking and grilling outdoors with his wife, Caroline, at their home in Dallas. They have a golden retriever named Noah, and they serve together in a homeless ministry at their church. Dr. Nuss also trains for triathlons and has competed in several races, including the Longhorn Ironman 70.3, the Chicago Marathon, and Boston Marathon.
